Specialist Court of Protection Deputy Services

Richardson Laine offers a range of welfare benefit assessment services for Court of Protection Deputies. These services are intended to provide on-going support to professionals who are acting on behalf of benefit claimants, and assist in meeting the Deputyship Standards Guidance published in the Summer of 2015 by the Office of the Public Guardian.

Welfare Benefit Assessment

Our detailed welfare benefit assessment calculates benefit entitlement based on information provided in respect of the claimants circumstances.  We provide a holistic service, and as such our benefit assessment considers not only a benefit claimants' entitlement, but also any potential impact on others living in the claimants household, or carers.    

Welfare Benefit Casework Services

We provide a range of casework services, including welfare benefit form filling; assistance with Mandatory Reconsideration and Appeal; making complaints to benefit authorities; providing advice and assistance in relation to benefit overpayment and recovery of overpayment including calculation of underlying entitlement.

Training and Training Workshops

Richardson Laine offers a range of welfare benefit specific training courses and training workshops which can be tailored to your needs.

Appeal Tribunal Representation

We are able to offer representation and attendance at appeal tribunal hearings where relevant.

Home Visits

We are able to offer home visits or provide advice services in other locations, such as the office of the professional acting on behalf of a benefit claimant, or professional who is assisting a claimant with another matter.
